Fitness Flow
Flow is a state of mind achieved
during moments of complete awareness. Flow is a way in which
your body moves through a physical yoga practice. Fitness
Flow combines these two mind body elements to create a unique
yoga experience . A form of moving mediation, you will bring
yourself into the present where the practice becomes effortless
yet powerful and the body and mind become strong.
Yoga for Energy and Health
In this class we explore tapping
into the abundant energy and well being that already exists
within ourselves. Our yoga practice is our vehicle to realizing
unlimited access to energy flow and balanced health. Each
class begins with a centering, that slowly evolves into a
flow of yoga postures designed specifically to increase strength,
instill confidence, and restore the body to its natural state
of health. Closing with a meditative relaxation will ensure
a renewed spirit. Suitable for all levels.
Gentle Vinyasa
A flowing yoga class suitable
for beginning and experienced students alike, connecting breath
and movement. The "flow" includes a series of postures
that will build flexibility and endurance - bringing you to
a place of inner calm.
Moderate Vinyasa
A flowing sequence of postures
linked together with breathing. Builds strength and flexibility.
Somatics movements to release stress patterns in they body
are included. This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate
students.
Yoga/Meditation Blend
This class offers a combination
of mindful practices that are designed to release tension
in the body and mind and promote an overall sense of peace
and well-being:
- Breath work-focuses the attention
on the present moment
- Postures-movement to bring strength,
flexibility and balance to the body
- Meditation-seated meditation on
the breath to calm the mind, improve clarity and concentration
- Yoga Nidra-a guided relaxation for
deep physical, mental, and emotional rest and healing
About half of the 90-minute class consists
of breath work and meditation, the other half is a combination
of physical postures and yoga nidra. Yoga/Meditation Blend
is appropriate for all levels of experience.
Rejuvinating Yoga with Meditation
Start your day with 45 minutes
of an energetic yoga practice, and transition to a soothing
30 minutes of guided meditation. Explore the balance of will
and surrender, as you find your strength, stability and balance
through asana (postures), and complete release through stillness.
Suitable for all levels.
Somatic Yoga
This class will offer a sequence
of somatic movements to enhance yoga practice and general
movement abilities. Limits in yoga practice are often due
to involuntary muscular contractions caused by long-term stress.
Faced with muscles that simply will not relax, many yogis
remain at the plateau of their ability. This class will begin
with 25-30 minutes of somatic work to release habitual postural
patterns and lead into a series of yoga asanas to compliment
this. Class size will be limited to allow for hands on and
individual attention. All levels.
Simply Somatics
This class will focus on somatic
movements to release chronic holding patterns in the body.
Somatic movements are precisely programmed to stimulate the
brain's release of muscular tightness and pain. Marked changes
in posture and skeletal function can be attained. Movements
for spine, hips, shoulders, legs and feet, face, jaw, and
eyes will also be included. This class will be expanded to
include an experience of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga releases connective
tissue (fascia) and allows joints to achieve optimal mobility.
A relaxation period will also be included.
Chair
The benefits of a regular yoga
practice go far beyond the class itself. For many people,
a regular yoga class may be challenging. In chair yoga, the
chair is used as a prop to explore a wide range of yoga postures
and enjoy the physical practice in a similar fashion to a
regular yoga class. The chair yoga format is designed for
participants who those who may not currently be able to participate
in a mat class, are recovering from injury, have minor wrist
or knee issues, are in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Teen
Self awareness leads to increased
self esteem. Through regular yoga practice, young adults will
learn body awareness through the fundamentals of yoga as well
as strengthen their body, mind and spirit. As the students
develop a better sense of themselves, they will elevate their
overall well being during what can be very challenging teen
years.
Vigorous Vinyasa
If you want a vigorous mind/body/spirit
workout, this class combines dynamic breath, postures, and
focal points into a specific sequence of flowing movements.
Somatic and conditioning movements will be included to mobilize
the joints and increase fluidity in the body. Some yoga experience
is recommended. Also, you should be in good physical condition.
Yoga Basics
This is a course for beginners
or those who want to refresh the foundations of yoga. Our
work in this class will cover:
- Learning the breath work that is
vital to yogic movement
- An acquaintance with the basic yoga
postures common to most yoga traditions
- Combining breath with movement
- Learning how to connect movement
in a flow
- Upon completion of the sessions
you will be assisted to find and accompanied into the regularly
scheduled class appropriate for you.
- Yoga for Bone Health & Muscle
Strength
This class combines a yoga practice
with weight bearing exercises to build bone and improve overall
postural alignment. Increase your muscle strength, endurance,
and bone health through weight bearing exercises using hand
weights and/or a weighted "body bar", flex-bands,
and balls. The key areas of the body that will be targeted
for bone loading will be wrists, shoulders, spine, and hips.
Practicing yoga postures and breathing techniques improves
your posture and flexibility, and provides mental relaxation
in today's stress-filled world.
